About Jean Donati

Jean Donati is a graduate of the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia Maryland, (now the Notre Dame of Maryland University). She obtained a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2000. She is Licensed with the Maryland State Board of Acupuncture. Since 1992, Jean has also been a skilled Certified Physician Assistant. She is Licensed with the Maryland Board of Physicians, and is certified with the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. She maintains her physician assistant certification so she can better serve her patients, and fully understand the western medicine behind their disease processes, thus combining eastern and western knowledge to their individual treatment modalities.

In her Acupuncture Practice, Jean focuses on treating all types of musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, stress and anxiety, depression, neurological conditions and womens’ health issues. However with the whole body approach of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, every medical issue has the potential to be addressed, so her practice is not limited to these aspects alone.

She has successfully treated low back pain and sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, neck pain, depression, rotator cuff injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, stress, anxiety, vertigo, dysmenorrhea, Achilles tendonitis, migraine headaches, and has assisted couples with fertility concerns.

She has a special interest in Caring for Caregivers (family caregivers, physicians, nurses, counselors, Fire/EMS, and police) and understands the need to be tended and healthy in order to give quality care to others. She has been using microneedling since 2023 for hair loss and facial rejuvenation, (also known as collagen induction therapy), to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and dark spots, and improve overall facial tone and skin elasticity. This journey began with her hair loss after covid, which she was able to fully restore in a few microneedling treatments.

When you come to see Jean, you can expect a calm, comfortable, healing atmosphere, attentive listening and a gentle, effective approach of providing therapy and care. You will receive her undivided attention during your session. Your care is her only priority. There is no double booking or leaving the room to attend to other patients during your session time.

In her spare time, Jean enjoys spending time with her family, figure skating, ballet, and yoga.

Jean chose to devote her skills and expertise to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine after trying acupuncture as a last ditch effort for her own chronic low back pain.
