About Dawn Furfaro

Dawn specializes in treating adults & children for chronic, complex conditions as well as everyday illnesses. She brings joy and compassion to the treatment room and is committed to helping her patients of all ages reach optimal health.

In her teens, Dawn developed severe chronic pain and, finding no solutions, she embarked on a pre-medical track at The Johns Hopkins University determined to find a cure herself. After meeting with many of the top pain specialists at Hopkins, and still without answers, Dawn decided to give acupuncture a try. It so improved her quality of life and well-being that she undertook six years of post-graduate studies to become a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She has been in practice for over a decade and loves helping her patients heal so they can fully thrive in their lives.

Dawn has been a professor and clinical supervisor of acupuncture at the Tai Sophia Institute, the Maryland University of Integrative Health, and Notre Dame of Maryland University. She lives and practices in Columbia, MD.
